In the dazzling world of precious stones and noble metals, certain jewelers stand out, mastering the art of harmonizing understated elegance with absolute refinement, genius with design, and sophistication with eternal, unforgettable splendor.
The name Fabergé, emblematic of originality and synonymous with the creations of a legendary house, has left an indelible mark on the history of jewelry and decorative arts. Renowned for uniting jewelry, artistic design, and utility into objets de luxe and objets de fantaisie, Fabergé's creations have always captivated with their exquisite craftsmanship. Fashioned from gold, silver, enamel, and precious stones, the pieces produced in Fabergé's workshops testify to exceptional virtuosity, marked by meticulous attention to detail and perfect material harmony. Even works inspired by earlier stylistic vocabularies bear the unmistakable mark of originality.

The National Museum of History of Moldova treasures a spectacular ladle, crafted in Fabergé's workshops in the late 19th century.
The Fabergé ladle is a curious blend of the "Russian style" and the "modern style." Made of solid silver, it features a circular, gold-plated bowl. Its raised, stylized handle (hook-shaped) is adorned with vegetal motifs, triple rings, and silver pearls. The rim is embellished with a wide band composed of rectangular medallions, decorated with spiral loops and stylized scales arranged alternately. The bowl is supported by four hemispherical feet. At the center, engraved inscriptions read: Eugenie von Platonow/St. Petersburg and ТОРГОВЫЙ ДОМЪ „АЛЕКСАНДРЪ"/1863/15/10/1913.
Research suggests that this ladle was commissioned by Alexander Trauberg, a first-guild merchant and owner of the "АЛЕКСАНДРЪ" Trading House located at Nevsky Boulevard 11, St. Petersburg. It was likely created to mark the 50th anniversary of his business in 1913.
The hallmark stamped on the base-Fabergé's K. ФАБЕРЖЕ logo surmounted by the Russian Empire's coat of arms, alongside the female profile in a kokoshnik within an oval frame, accompanied by the Greek letter Δ (delta) and the silver purity standard "88"-confirms that the piece was produced by Fabergé's Moscow branch.
The hypnotic charm of Fabergé's creations defined the aesthetic ideals of an era, embodying exuberance and refinement, crafted by a jeweler to kings and a king among jewelers.

Jubilee of the Master of Arts, Veaceslav Ignatenco

On December 6, the National Museum of History of Moldova hosted an event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of painter Veaceslav Ignatenco, a prominent figure from the Republic of Moldova, who was awarded the title of "Master in Arts" in 2019.

The ceremony, attended by a distinguished audience, featured speeches by Alexandru Argint, Deputy Director of the National Museum of History of Moldova (NMHM); Ana Babina, President of the Belarusian Cultural Center in the Republic of Moldova; and Veaceslav Ignatenco, the celebrated artist and honoree.

Opening of the Exhibition “The Artifact from Your Locality”

On November 1, 2024, the National Museum of History of Moldova unveiled an exhibition titled "The Artifact from Your Locality," dedicated to exploring the cultural heritage of communities across the Republic of Moldova. In the museum's central hall, visitors had the chance to discover 24 panels showcasing artifacts from 24 localities in the North, Center, and South of Moldova.

This exhibition represents a valuable segment of the project bearing the same name, initiated by ICOM Moldova and funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova.

Scientific Conference "History - Archaeology - Museology", 34th Edition

Between October 24-25, 2024, the annual scientific conference with international participation was held at the National History Museum of Moldova: History - Archeology - Museology, XXXIV Edition, in mixed format (with physical and online presence).

Archaeologists, historians, museographers, ethnologists, linguists and political scientists from eight countries (Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany and Sweden) participated in the scientific conference. 147 researchers with 123 communications signed up for participation in the Scientific Conference Program.

Opening of the Exhibition "The Story of a Painting"

On October 22, 2024, at the National Museum of History of Moldova, the opening of the exhibition "History of a painting" signed by the artist Ghenadie Jalbă took place. The exhibition, dedicated to the commemoration of 520 years since the death of Stephen the Great, brought to the public's attention a deep exploration of the creation process of the work "Battle of Lipnic", highlighting the stages of development and the meanings that accompany it.

The President of the Union of Visual Artists from the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Florina Breazu, emphasized the exceptional contribution of the artist to the national cultural landscape.

Opening of the Exhibition “Show Me Your Pain” Vol. III

21 October 2024

On October 21, 2024, in the context of the European Day against pain, the National History Museum of Moldova hosted the opening of the exhibition "Show Me Your Pain," the result of a unique performance conducted during a scientific seminar in Salzburg, Austria, earlier this year. The project randomly paired eight volunteers with eight artists, each volunteer completing a detailed questionnaire that included demographic data, pain intensity scores, and comparisons of pain with basic sensory experiences.

Opening of the exhibition "From Stray to Star"

During October 18-19, 2024, the National History Museum of Moldova (MNIM) hosted the opening of an exhibition, entitled "From Stray to Star", organized with the support of the national organization Doctor Vet Moldova and the international organization FOUR PAWS. This exhibition was a platform dedicated to animal welfare, aiming to educate the community and address the issue of stray dogs.

The opening of the exhibition brought together a significant number of participants, including local and national officials, veterinarians and animal lovers.

The museum's Blue Hall resonated with the enchanting voices of participants from Moldova, Romania, Latvia, and Ukraine.

This prestigious competition, organized by the Choral Music Association, brought together around 30 choral ensembles, which impressed the audience with their artistic quality and diverse musical styles.

Opening of the Exhibition “Czech Castles in the Heart of Moldova” at the Mircea Eliade Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău

Today, on October 17, 2024, the opening of the traveling exhibition "Czech Castles in the Heart of Moldova" took place at the Mircea Eliade Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău, organized in collaboration with the National Museum of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chișinău.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of meticulously crafted models of Czech castles by the eighth-grade students - Răzvan Musteață, Melania Șaganovschi, and Alexandra Ocnean.
