The exhibition of models on a reduced scale is organized by the Association of Modelers of Moldova and is an attempt to recreate such events, being the first of its kind after a very long period of time.
People have very different passions: anyone collect stamps, others - butterflies, weapons, coins, and so on. But there is another kind of passion, which is called the modeling. This is the technique of making copies of machines and equipment at a reduced scale.
Many people consider that modeling is an occupation for children. However, prominent modelers disagree with this statement. The modeling is a noble passion, like collecting stamps, coins, etc., and quite expensive.
It is hard to believe how accurate some copies of real objects are. There are replicated even the smallest and most insignificant items, such as electrical wiring, hydraulic components, pipes, and even people, all of which are tens of times smaller than in reality. Similarly, there are imitated the influences of weather and climate on military equipment, traces of exploitation in different parts of the world, so that, for example, there is well seen that the tank fought in a desert environment, that an aircraft was exploited intensively, but another one was recently made.
The exhibition includes a large number of models (over 200) of different sizes, made by experienced and novice modelers from the country. Here one can see models of military and civil engineering, aircraft, warships, and fantastic devices as well as dioramas that reflect the different situations from life. In the future, it is expected to hold two exhibitions of this kind a year.
