Vernissage "Rașcov - past through centuries and history"

On October 22, 2024, the National History Museum of Moldova hosted the opening of the exhibition "Rașcov - passed through centuries and history", organized by the Belarusian Cultural Center of the Republic of Moldova and the Inter-Ethnic Relations Agency of the Republic of Moldova, on the occasion of the important 70th anniversary of the artist plastic Veaceslav Ignatenco. The event brought the history and culture of Rașcov to the fore, offering visitors a unique perspective on this special place.
Rașcov, with deep roots in Moldovan traditions, is presented as a diverse cultural and historical space, where multiple influences have harmoniously merged over the centuries, an essential aspect being the connection with the Jewish community and the Catholic church, which have deeply marked the development of the region and its spiritual identity.
At the opening of the exhibition, Eugen Sava, general director of the National History Museum of Moldova, Ana Babina, president of the Belarusian Cultural Center in the Republic of Moldova, Veaceslav Reabcinschii, general director of the Interethnic Relations Agency of the Republic of Moldova, and Veceaslav Ignatenco, plastic artist and master in arts.
Eugen Sava highlighted the role of the museum as a space for cultural and artistic dialogue, emphasizing the significant contribution of artist Veaceslav Ignatenco to the preservation and promotion of cultural values. At the same time, he mentioned the role and thanked the Belarusian Cultural Center and the Inter-Ethnic Relations Agency for their support in organizing this exhibition.
In his speech, Veaceslav Reabcinschii emphasized the fundamental role of art in strengthening interethnic cohesion, arguing that the exhibition represents a manifestation of the cultural diversity of the Republic of Moldova.
Mrs. Ana Babina remarked on the importance of the 68th exhibition by painter Veaceslav Ignatenco in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting his significant contribution to promoting cultural heritage through his art.
The author of the exhibition, Veaceslav Ignatenco, stated that the natural beauty and historical richness of Rașcov profoundly inspired him. Through over 30 exhibited works, the artist reflects his personal connection to this region and explores key moments in its history.
The exhibition can be visited until December 6, 2024, in the upstairs hall of the National History Museum of Moldova, Chisinau, Str. 31 August 1989, 121A.
